As social media becomes increasingly integrated into public relations, it falls to its professionals to stay current in the constantly changing landscape of instant online communication.
One way to do this is to familiarize yourself with any new apps that are released. Here are three of the biggest new Facebook apps released in November.
The Facebook check-in feature went live on Oct. 15, 2014, after numerous disasters and crises forced people to spread their cries for help through the Internet. Safety Check provides an opportunity for users to let their family and friends know they’re safe.
At first the app was only available for natural disasters, but after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris it was enabled to include violent events.
This new Facebook app delivers all the news you might want and need to your phone’s lock screen. It gathers information from stations you choose and creates a real-time news feed. The app’s convenient interface allows you to track your favourite channels in one click. Notify can also suggest news based on your Facebook activity.
Created for non-profit organizations, the app acts as an improved donation button that allows people to donate to charities without leaving Facebook. This feature will help non-profits to get financial support, engage new people and increase awareness of their organizations. Founders can let people know their stories and goals, collect donations and track all changes during any time periods they set.
