WestJet, known for its award-winning culture of care, celebrates its tenth anniversary of their WestJet Cares for Kids campaign with a video highlighting the number of flights donated to charitable partners since 2007.

The benefit of the campaign is to highlight the thousands of children and families it has helped over the past 10 years. The airliner donated 65,000 flights, approximately 18 flights per day, to its charitable partners. The gifts of flight give families the opportunity to see their loved ones, helps investigators find missing children, and creates a sense of hope that large corporations can make a difference for their customers.

This campaign is successful year after year because it places the priority on the well-being of children and families. Teaming up with charitable organizations that promote health and wellness, WestJet becomes a larger part in helping families connect with loved ones. The positive impact this campaign creates, provides opportunities for young Canadians to thrive.

Here are three ways WestJet has succeeded in creating campaign awareness:

1. Partner with charities that share a similar goal
WestJet partners with charitable organizations that have similar goals and objectives to help families in need. The free flights show that WestJet is actively taking a role in collaborating with charities to boost the success of their programs and initiatives for children and families.

2. Use facts and figures to back up your campaign and message
WestJet took real-life facts and figures and placed it in a way that is visually appealing for children and parents. Usually facts and figures aren’t all that interesting, but placing it in a creative space that is understood by your target audience will get your campaign noticed.

3. Create a hashtag to generate buzz for your campaign
Share the unique experiences of your audience on social media using hashtags. It connects your campaign on a personal level between the company and the customer. Families who received a gift of flight used the hashtag #WestJetCaresforKids to share their experiences and how it has impacted their lives.
